Interchangeable Die Attachment Base for Arbor Press

Interchangeable Die attachment base for Arbor Press

Project Description:

Machined a base for interchangeable die attachments (to attach to arbor press) in the machine shop

Work Completed:

I started out with a piece of aluminum stock metal. Using the lathe, I began evening out the faces of the cylinder on the lathe – this was done so the base could sit properly on the arbor press without tilting over to one side. I then drilled holes on both sides of the cylinder and threaded by hand tapping them, for the die attachments. One of the holes would be used to attach the die, and the other would be to attach the base to the arbor press.
